The shelves did not fit in the refrigerator. Well everything else was a dream but all the appliances were nightmares and still are. Ordered all Whirlpool and kitchenaid appliances for my whole brand new dream kitchen. Yes is someone else said this is an old thread but it's still stands. You have to be a pit bull and call and demand better design and service. I have to say that my washer dryer lasted eight years. My GE dishwasher and washer/dryer? That's another story (they have electronics). Same with my stove/oven - no electronics - no problems. I have a simple GE with no electronics (no ice maker on the outside) - hasn't given me any problem. Another note: the more electronics on it - the more likely it will have problems. Appliance companies don't want you to get it fixed - they just want you to buy a new appliance. Problems include fridge crispers filling with water, fridge hoses plugged up (a Samsung typical problem), Whirpool stove display panels breaking, etc. They tell customers to get a repair person to fix it. Problems usually occur after the one year warrenty. Appliances companies know about problems, but don't fix design flaws. They are made in poorer and poorer quality. There's no other place to go but to buy from the few limited companies that sell kitchen appliances. It says that the large kitchen appliance business is a monopoly, and they know people need fridges. (In my opinion) Below is an excellent youtube video on large kitchen appliances. We have no idea if or when this will be resolved. DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID REFRIGERATOR! For that matter, stay away from Whirlpool entirely. Not to mention that on two occasions we spoke with their "CSI" - (contract service initiative!!). This is unconscionable, unfair, and there is no excuse. Once more they are giving us the runaround, claiming that they will fix the problem by replacing the parts AGAIN!! Our serviceman was extremely frustrated, because, as he says, they ignored his report of our problems.Īs of today, when we contacted Whirlpool they are refusing to replace our refrigerator. The huge box containing these items sat in our living room for 2 week. We were told that we also needed a new gasket seal. a new freezer door was ordered, it took weeks. In the meantime the freezer door got scratched from the servicing.

We had to wait for yet another two servicemen to come. Our technician reported that he thought it was a lemon, and then Whirlpool Service told us that he did not report it as such. Then the fridge started to sweat and leak water inside the unit. First it was the control board, then it was the thermostat.

We have had a service person come to "repair" the problem repeatedly. We purchased our Kitchenaid fridge earlier this year and we have had NOTHING but problems. Nightmare is certainly a good word for Whirlpool - the worst service we have EVER seen.
